French to Spanish translation
We translate and certify documents from French into Spanish and from Spanish into French, for paperwork in the Dominican Republic and abroad. It is the pair we handle most, because it is the language documents are issued in across Haiti, France, Belgium, Switzerland, French-speaking Canada and much of West Africa.
What it is usually needed for
- Residence, regularisation and naturalisation files at the Directorate of Migration.
- Enrolment at Dominican universities and recognition of foreign degrees.
- Marriages, divorces and declarations of heirs involving French or Haitian documents.
- Contracts, powers of attorney and corporate documents between companies working in both languages.
- Visa files for Canada, France and other French-speaking destinations.
Certified translation, not machine translation
A machine translator is of no use for official paperwork: the institution requires someone to answer for the accuracy of the translation, with a signature and a stamp. Our translations are delivered certified, with a reference number and online verification, and with the care that proper names, dates, document numbers and stamps demand — which is exactly where improvised translations fail.
We also interpret
If you need someone to speak for you — a hearing, an appointment at Migration, a business meeting or a medical consultation — we offer interpreting in person and remotely in French, Haitian Creole, Spanish and English.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to translate a document from French?
It depends on the length and the type of document. A one-page certificate has a fixed price; a long file is quoted per page or per word. We confirm the amount in writing before starting, and quoting is free.
Is the translation valid outside the country?
A translation certified by our office is valid before Dominican institutions. To use it abroad, many countries also require an apostille; we handle that step at the MIREX.
Can you translate a handwritten document?
Yes, as long as it is legible. We review it before quoting and tell you honestly if any part cannot be read; where that happens, it is marked in the translation, as professional practice requires.
