Translation of Haitian documents
Documents issued in Haiti arrive in French: certificates from the Archives Nationales, school and university certificates, academic transcripts, court rulings, powers of attorney and police records. We translate them into Spanish and certify them so that a Dominican institution accepts them instead of handing them back.
We work with this kind of file every day and we know what each institution asks for: the Junta Central Electoral, the Directorate General of Migration, the Ministry of Education, the universities and the consulates do not want the same papers or the same format. Before charging you anything, we look at your document and tell you what you actually need.
Haitian documents we translate
- Birth certificate (extrait des Archives Nationales d’Haïti) — the most frequently translated document, in French.
- Marriage and death certificates, also in French.
- Haitian passport — the only bilingual document: its fields are in Creole and French.
- Certificates and transcripts from Haitian schools, lycées and universities.
- Diplomas and degrees for recognition or university enrolment.
- Certificate of good conduct and police records.
- Court rulings, powers of attorney and notarial acts issued by Haitian courts and notaries.
- Identity cards and licences, when the institution requires them translated.
Are they in Creole or in French?
In practice, almost always in French. Creole is the language we speak with you at the office and on WhatsApp, and it appears on the passport, which is bilingual. The civil and academic documents issued by Haitian institutions are drafted in French, and that is how we translate them: from French into Spanish, with the wording Dominican institutions expect to read.
If your document is handwritten, blurred or missing a stamp, say so when you send it. It can still be done, but it is better to know beforehand so the trip is not wasted.
What you receive
- The complete and faithful translation, on MASSENAT CONSULTING GROUP letterhead.
- The office’s signature and stamp, with the statement of accuracy institutions require.
- A reference number and a QR code: whoever receives the document can check online that we issued it.
- A digital PDF copy, as well as the paper original.
How we do it
- You send us the document — a sharp photo on WhatsApp is enough for a quotation. You can also bring it to the office.
- We confirm price and deadline in writing, before starting.
- We translate and certify, checking proper names, dates and stamps — which is where rejections come from.
- We hand it over at the office or by post, and it stays registered for online verification.
Frequently asked questions
Is the translation accepted by the Junta Central Electoral?
Yes. We deliver the certified translation with signature, stamp and verification number, which is what the JCE asks for together with the original document and, depending on the case, its legalisation or apostille. If your case also needs the apostille, we handle it.
Do I need the paper original?
For quoting and translating, no: a complete, legible photograph is enough. To submit the file, many institutions do require the translation to be presented with the original document or a certified copy.
How long does a Haitian birth certificate translation take?
Usually between 24 and 72 working hours, depending on our workload and how legible the document is. If you need it sooner, ask us about the urgent service.
Do you serve clients in Creole?
Yes. We serve you in Haitian Creole, French or Spanish, whichever you prefer, at the office, by phone and on WhatsApp.
Do you also translate from Spanish into French?
Yes, in both directions: Dominican certificates, employment letters, certifications and company documents into French, to be presented in Haiti or before French-speaking institutions.
Send us a photo of the document and we will tell you today what it costs and when it will be ready.
